70 full-length animated feature films are on floor, says Animation Guru Paresh Parekh.Notwithstanding the box office fate of Roadside Romeo, Animation films are here to stay.

And if Animation Guru Paresh Parekh is to be believed, they can well be the future of film-making.

“With over 70 full-length animated feature films on the floor including remake of many live-action movies like Shivaji, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Sholay, Andaaz Apna Apna, to name a few, you have no choice but to wait for results and believe it,” says Parekh, creative head of Frameboxx Animation and Visual Effects and a casting director of movies like Rang De Basanti, Mangal Pandey, Jai Santoshi Maa, Lonawala Khandala Ghat, Kidnap and Rangrasia.

In city to conduct a workshop for students of Frameboxx Animation, Parekh says “No other form of entertainment offers an arena as wide as animation. With films locales becoming common and monotony creeping into movies and serials, animation will be the only choice.”

Interacting with budding animators here in Lucknow, Parekh says animators are not only the creators of character but also the directors and actors to infuse life into inanimate graphics who come alive and entertain once it is executed with perfection.

“Facial expression of animated character matters the most, body language and emotions follow next. It is basic enhancement of body performances that I am teaching at present,” says Parekh asserting that emotions are necessary to infuse life in a visual character.

Having been associated with movies, Paresh switched to animation to give a vent to his creativity. A former theatre artiste, Paresh has also acted in serials like Aahat and Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka. He has also done assistant direction.

In addition, Paresh teaches nuances of acting to aspirants through separate assignments.

“The actress who played Vidya Sharma in the movie Chak De has been my student,” he boasts. It’s a misconception that animation movies are for only children, adults have been admiring them more as they are saturated with films today and seeking some change,” he says.

“With animation being used extensively in the field of advertising, cinema, television, education, simulation for health and aviation, hi-end gaming, opportunities for a career in the industry is enormous,” avers Parekh.
